An optional heated print bed pre-dries ink before powder application — ideal for heavy ink coverage and high-density prints, producing a softer hand feel. Disable the heated bed for fine detail work to maximize powder precision.

Free-Fall Film Path for Reliable Tracking

The film exits the printer in a controlled free-fall — nearly to the floor — before curving back into the dryer. This natural slack zone absorbs minor tracking variations and compensates for alignment differences between the printer and dryer, resulting in stable film travel, reduced lifting on the print bed, and a more forgiving experience for new DTF operators.

Automated Take-Up Reel with Dancer Bar Tension Control

The X-5 includes a professional-grade take-up reel with both a tracking bar and a dancer bar — technology standard in large-format roll-to-roll systems. The tracking bar works with a vacuum plate to ensure the final section of film exits the dryer cleanly at the end of each run.
