The industrial dryer included with the X-5 DTF printing system is engineered for high-speed DTF production, consistent curing, and long-term reliability. Designed specifically for direct-to-film printing, the dryer features ten high-output quartz heating elements—six on the top and four on the bottom—delivering fast, even heat distribution across the entire film width. This balanced heating ensures proper adhesive melt, vibrant color retention, and durable wash performance without slowing down production.
The dryer operates on 240VAC, 40-amp single-phase power, making it easy to install in most print shops without costly electrical upgrades. This efficient electrical design provides industrial-level curing performance while maintaining flexible placement options for growing DTF operations.
Precision Powder Shaker System
The integrated DTF powder shaker and dryer system is designed to deliver uniform adhesive coverage and efficient excess powder removal. An adjustable bottom carriage accommodates film widths up to 26 inches, ensuring edge-to-edge powder application on every print.
This precision shaker system helps eliminate inconsistencies, reduces waste, and ensures that each transfer is fully coated—resulting in strong adhesion, clean edges, and professional-grade finished garments.
Intuitive LED Control Panel
The LED control panel gives operators full control over critical DTF production settings. Easily adjust independent heating zones, powder output, film speed, and temperature to dial in optimal curing conditions for different inks, powders, and fabric types.
This level of control allows operators to maintain consistent results, maximize throughput, and reduce setup time, whether running short jobs or high-volume production.
Advanced Media Web-Up and Film Handling System
The X-5 DTF printing system features a unique media web-up design engineered for accurate tracking and reliable performance at high speeds. Film tension is set at the infeed using roll holders positioned behind the printer, ensuring precise registration and stable film movement throughout the print cycle.
When the film enters the drying unit, operators can activate the heated bed, which is especially beneficial for heavy ink coverage and high-density prints. Pre-drying the ink reduces excessive powder absorption and produces a softer hand feel. For fine detail work, the heated bed can be turned off to maximize powder precision and image sharpness.
Free-Fall Film Path for Superior Tracking
One of the most important features of the X-5 system is how the film exits the printer. The film free-falls nearly to the floor before smoothly curving back into the dryer, creating a natural slack zone. This design absorbs minor tracking variations and compensates for alignment differences between the printer and dryer.
The result is stable film travel, reduced lifting on the print bed, and fewer operator errors, making the system especially forgiving and user-friendly for new DTF operators.
Automated Take-Up Reel with Dancer Bar Control
The X-5 DTF system is equipped with a professional-grade take-up reel that includes both a tracking bar and a dancer bar—technology commonly found in large-format roll-to-roll printers.
The tracking bar works in conjunction with a vacuum plate, activated at the end of a print run, to ensure the final section of film exits the dryer smoothly without slipping or falling. The dancer bar continuously monitors film tension and automatically adjusts the take-up reel, preventing issues such as telescoping or misalignment.
With these automated tension-control features in place, operators can focus on print quality, productivity, and workflow efficiency, rather than constantly adjusting film handling.
