NEW - Galactic White Booster DTF Adhesive Powder

Introducing our new Galactic White Boost powder, which offers multiple benefits depending on how you use it. This powder not only increases your white opacity, provides a better hand to your prints, and is Oeko-Tex Certified.

To fully unlock these advantages, we recommend make minor adjustments to your current printing and pressing techniques, outlined below from our testing.

  • Packaged in 1 kg  (2.204 lbs.) bags.  Packing in smaller bags keeps the powder from clumping up due to humidity.  This way you can add powder as needed in small quantities.  Less hassle & helps maintain a cleaner environment than working with 20 kg of powder, hard to handle and reseal.
  • Adhesive powder fuses at 215F for 10-15 seconds.  The temperature and time depend on the curing device used.
  • Premium powder has great adhesion properties on both cotton and polyester fabrics.
  • Premium powder utilizes the smallest particle size for reduced hand feel
  • Our powder measures 80-200 microns in size

One of the key benefits of Galactic White powder is its ability to enhance white opacity, which we measure using the L* value. (what is L value - see below)

Using Galactic White powder to increase opacity doesn’t require any adjustments to your printing settings. During the curing process, you'll notice that the powder doesn’t dry clear like most TPU powders. Instead, it dries with a speckled white finish, which contributes to the enhanced opacity. In our tests, we compared the L* value of our stock Kyber powder with that of the Galactic powder and found a 2.7% increase, achieving an L* value of 89.86%.

Additionally, you can lower the percentage of white ink in your layer while still maintaining the same L* value. Thanks to the increased opacity provided by the Galactic powder, we achieved a 20%-25% savings in white ink. By reducing your white ink percentage, you'll also pick up less powder, resulting in a significantly softer hand feel. When applied correctly, your DTF transfer will feel less plastic-like and more like rubber or silicone—our favorite performance feature of the Galactic powder. Softening the hand of your transfer is a major advantage.

If you are converting new to the Galactic Powder we recommend doing the following:

  • Keep all profile (Wasatch image config / or whatever rip software you are using) info the same initially
  • Completely clean out the existing powder, this needs to be done because powders cure at different temps
  • Load in the new Galactic White powder and run some test jobs
  • It's important to have registration on point as this powder dries with a white appearance.  If your registration is off slightly you will have an outline of white powder.
In our switch to the Galactic, we were able to decrease the white ink %(about 20%), keeping the same opacity but achieving a softer hand.
  • You can however, keep your white % static and gain white opacity with this powder.
  • Make sure you are not over-curing, we cure at 215F for approx. 60 seconds in the dryer chamber.  All dryers are different so use this as a starting point.
Make sure you do your wash test before switching over!
  • Heat press at 285F for 10 seconds with 20# of pressure, also do a cover press after 1st press, for 4 seconds
  • Combined with the Imperial film this Galactic white powder can peel within 1 second of the press opening.  Some results may vary a  little based upon your heat press, some presses platens retain a little more heat, so the adhesive still stays pliable therefore it takes a little longer wait to peel. If this is the case, remove from the heat press, wait a second or two and it should be ready to peel.

What is the L Value

The L* value (pronounced "L star") measures lightness, with 0 representing black and 100 representing white. In digital printing, an L* value close to 90 is considered excellent. Achieving a value above 91 is rare and typically requires slowing down the printing process.

READ this before using

We recommend before switching to remove out any adhesive powder that you may have in your hopper. Sometimes different adhesives do not work well together and create clumping.
