Galactic White Booster DTF Powder — Softest Hand Feel & Superior White Opacity

Introducing Galactic White Booster DTF Powder from Imperial DTF — a premium TPU adhesive powder engineered to do more than just bond your transfers. Galactic White uniquely boosts white ink opacity, reduces hand feel, and saves up to 20–25% on white ink usage — all while being Oeko-Tex Certified for safe, compliant production.

Available in 1 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, and 20 kg sizes to fit any shop volume.

Galactic White Boost Powder is a high-performance TPU adhesive designed to increase white opacity L* by approximately two points. Due to its performance specifications, it requires stable environmental conditions maintained 24 hours a day. For people that manually powder your films, you will probably find Starbase is easier to work with.

Environmental Requirements:

  - Temperature: 72°F
  - Relative Humidity: 5% – 30%
  - Venting: Proper dryer venting is necessary to maintain these conditions.

If humidity levels exceed 30%, the powder will stick outside the image area and create a visible powder halo around your print.

White Ink Compatibility:
Galactic is sensitive to the percentage of white ink used. Because it cures with a white finish rather than clear, it must be able to absorb the excess glycol in the white ink. If the white ink percentage is set too high, the powder will not fully absorb the glycol, resulting in a white powder halo around the image.

What Makes Galactic White Different

Most DTF powders dry clear. Galactic White dries with a speckled white finish that actively contributes to enhanced white opacity. In Imperial DTF’s production testing, Galactic White achieved an L* value of 89.86% — a 2.7% increase over standard TPU powder.

That increased opacity means you can reduce your white ink layer by 20–25% while maintaining the same visual result. Less white ink = less powder pickup = a dramatically softer, more natural hand feel. When applied correctly, your DTF transfers feel less plastic-like and more like rubber or silicone — one of the most sought-after qualities in premium DTF output.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Boosts white ink opacity — 2.7% L* value increase vs. standard TPU powder
  • Saves 20–25% on white ink — reduce ink usage without sacrificing coverage
  • Softest hand feel in DTF — transfers feel like rubber or silicone, not plastic
  • Fine particle size (80–200 microns) — minimal hand feel, excellent detail capture
  • Strong adhesion on cotton & polyester — reliable bonding across fabric types
  • Oeko-Tex Certified — safe for skin contact, globally compliant
  • Packaged in resealable 1 kg bags — prevents humidity clumping, easier to handle and store than 20 kg bulk bags

Setup Tips for Best Results

To fully unlock Galactic White’s advantages, Imperial DTF recommends these adjustments based on in-house production testing:

  • No RIP changes needed initially — keep your existing white ink profiles and test from there
  • Reduce white ink by 20–25% — you’ll maintain the same L* value with less ink and a softer feel
  • Cure at 215°F for 10–15 seconds — exact time depends on your curing device
  • Always run a wash test before committing to full production runs

What Is L* Value?

L* (lightness) is a standardized measurement used to quantify white ink opacity in DTF printing. A higher L* value means brighter, more opaque whites. Galactic White powder achieves an L* of 89.86% — measurably better than standard TPU adhesive powders.
