Usage & Setup Tips
If you're switching to Starbase Fine Grain Powder, follow these simple steps for best results:
✅ Keep your RIP software profiles the same – Whether you're using Wasatch or another DTF RIP, no need to change your existing image configurations initially.
✅ Fully clean out your previous powder – Old and new powders cure at different temperatures. A full cleanout prevents contamination and ensures consistent curing.
✅ Load in Starbase and run test prints – We recommend curing at 105°C (221°F) for 60 seconds in your dryer. Start here, then fine-tune for your machine.
✅ Wash test before full production – Always confirm your results with a wash test to ensure proper bonding and durability.
✅ Heat press settings:
- Press at 285°F for 10 seconds with 20 lbs. of pressure
- Follow up with a second press (cover press) for 4 seconds to lock in the finish
